I was lucky enough to get Suzanne as my Winter Wonderland Coffee Swap partner and she sent me such a great package today! I got delicious Starbucks coffee, mounds of chocolate (yum!), candles, notepads, candy and yummy alpaca yarn! Thank you so much Suzanne!
My downstream partner was Sandi and I sent her a package awhile ago and I really hope it got there! Otherwise I’ve got a post office trip in my future to deal with the insurance.

“I love the holidays, it turning colder here, and I love coffee. As the cold of winter approaches, do you change the projects you work on? Do you work on gifts for others or do you continue working on projects for yourself?”
Here in California we don’t have a huge change of seasons, so I don’t necessarily change the projects I’m working on, except that I do start projects that I hope to be gifts either for Christmas, birthdays or Mother’s Day in the New Year. Because I was so focused on the Red Scarf Project I’ve gotten a bit more into charity knitting, so now I’m making a scarf for Full Thread Ahead’s charity knitting and hope to have it sent off this Friday.

I’m not really a coffee afficionado, I just like coffee! I like to try local brands. I *hate* hazelnuts! Please, no hazelnut coffee!
Do you prefer whole bean or ground coffee?
Whole bean, we have a very well used grinder!
This time of year, there are often Holiday Blends available, and many flavored coffees – do you drink flavored coffee? Do you enjoy special blends?
Yes, I do drink flavored coffee, but please, *no* hazelnut! I often choose vanilla flavored coffee when I have the chance. Other holiday blends sound good too.
How do you take your coffee? Cream and Sugar? Straight up? Decaf?
Cream or whole milk and sugar. Caffeine, please!
Do you prefer drinking from a nice thick mug, or a matched cup and saucer?
I don’t have a preference, I love them all!

Christmas.

Not really. We have a tiny fake one for the kids.

I collect covers and/or mixes of music – a winter themed mix would be fun! I also collect chocolate 
I really love chocolate and coffee combinations! I don’t necessarily have a holiday or winter theme collection.

Not really. Although I would love to make some fingerless gloves at some point.

Entenmann’s Stollen (they don’t sell it here

Do you Knit or Crochet? For how long?
I do both, knitting for about 5 years and just recently took up crocheting.
Do you like wooden, metal, or plastic needles\hooks? Circular or straight?
I like all circular needles and hooks. I also use dpns, but not regular straight needles.
What sort of projects do you enjoy making?
Sweaters and shrugs.
What are your favorite types of yarn to work with?
Alpaca and other soft natural fibers.
Do you spin or dye?
I have done some dyeing but I’m not an expert. I don’t spin.
Do you do other crafts such as scrapbooking or needlepoint or anything else?
I do some beading like stitch markers, necklaces, watches, earrings.

3 sons under 8. No pets because of allergies, but I love cats!
